Robin Lindsay Wilson was born in South Australia but has lived in Scotland for many years. He is Programme Leader of the Acting for Stage & Screen course at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. His work has appeared in many literary magazines, including Magma, Iota, Envoi, The Interpreter’s House and The Rialto. Previous writing includes over twenty playscripts and screenplay commissions for BBC television & radio. Several of his theatre productions which he wrote and directed were selected for awards, such as, Traverse Pick of the Fringe and in 1999 he won a Scotsman Fringe First. In 2005 he received a commendation in the National Poetry Competition.
His first collection, Ready Made Bouquets, was published by Cinnamon Press. In 2012 he won the Tenby Poetry Competition. In 2014 he was short listed for the Liverpool International Poetry & Short Story Competition. In 2015 he completed a set of twenty two poems commissioned for the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow. These are displayed along the hospital corridors as inserts into graphic images. In November 2015, Myself and Other Strangers, his second collection of poetry, was published by Cinnamon Press. His work has been translated into Italian, Bulgarian and German.
