Richard Medrington is a storyteller. He writes and performs his poetry and plays, and found his calling as a puppeteer in the 1980s. He founded the Puppet State Theatre Company in Edinburgh, and has performed at venues all over Britain including the National Theatre. He is the veteran of 24 Edinburgh Fringes.
Medrington has published his own poetry and others’ in his Puppet State Press pamphlets, which include Wild Star Flight and The Word of Dog in 2004, and has been shortlisted for the Callum Macdonald Memorial Award. His essay on Edward Thomas’s poem ‘Adlestrop’ is included in Common Ground: Around Britain With Thirty Writers published in 2006 by Cyan Books.
