Marion F. Morrison is a Gaelic poet and writer (sometimes credited as Marion F. NicIllemhoire) based on the island of South Uist and winner of the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award in 2017 for Gaelic poetry. Her first collection of poems in Gaelic and English, Adhbhar ar Sòlais – Cause of our Joy, was published in 2018 by Bradan Press and came second in the Donald Meek Award.
In 2019, Morrison undertook a commission for the Scottish Book Trust annual book week publication, and read her work in English and Gaelic at the launch event in Edinburgh.
Morrison’s poetry was read at the opening service of the Royal National Mòd in 2019. She has appeared in a programme celebrating local bards and broadcast recently on BBC Alba. Marion also recorded her poetry in Gaelic and English for the Churches Together online radio station based in Glasgow.
