b. 1973

POEMS BIBLIOGRAPHY

Kathrine Sowerby was born in Fife and lives in Glasgow. She studied Tapestry at Edinburgh College of Art then taught English in Slovakia and Lithuania before returning to Scotland for the MFA at Glasgow School of Art.

Since then, while raising her family, she completed an MLitt in Creative Writing from Glasgow University, received a New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust and was mentored by poet Gerry Loose on the St Mungo’s Mirrorball Clydebuilt Scheme.

Her writing has taken her to Pakistan and Latvia to take part in poetry translation projects, she has appeared at StAnza and Edinburgh Book Festival, and led creative writing workshops to all ages in community gardens, art galleries, schools, yoga studios and libraries.

She has been published widely and writes collaboratively with poet Tessa Berring as ‘Usual Shoe’. Her recent books are Tutu (Dostoyevsky Wannabe, 2022), a collection of writing and drawing, and (Find Yourself) at Constant Falls (Blue Diode Press, 2022), a sequence of 108 prose poems.
