Jacqueline Tweddle

Jacqueline Tweddle is a Scottish writer, born and brought up near Stirling in the Forth Valley. Although always a lover of poetry and literature, she studied and worked in marine science for many years, at several universities across the UK and USA – she has degrees in both marine biology and marine physics, and a PhD combining both. She worked in academia for many years, finally settling down near Aberdeen, in North East Scotland, in 2013. 

Jacqueline left academia in 2021 and started publishing her poetry in 2023. She has since had poems in both Scots and English published in various magazines and anthologies. Her work often touches upon the sense of self, and how we are moulded by our backgrounds and experiences. Pieces often reflect her love of nature. She also writes short stories, and has had non-fiction articles on a variety of topics published in several magazines.
