Pwy dorrodd y ffenest?

Gruffudd Owen

Pwy dorrodd y ffenest?
Y bêl.

Pwy giciodd y bêl?
Wn i ddim.

Pa hogia oedd rhain?
Wn i ddim.

Wel, pwy oedd yn chwarae?
Ni’r hogia’.

Ti’n siwr nad chdi wnaeth ei chicio?
Na, mi welish i hynny’n reit glir.

Felly gwelaist yn iawn pwy wnaeth gicio?
...dwi’m yn siŵr o’n i yno, deud ‘gwir.

Translations of this Poem

Who broke the school window?

Who broke the school window?
The ball did.

But who kicked the ball?
…I dunno.

Well, who was out playing?
Us lads were.

And who were these lads?
…I dunno.

Are you sure that you didn’t break it?
No, I was too far from the ball.

In that case, you must have seen something?
…I may not have been there at all.
