Filmpoem 4 / La Plage

Alastair Cook

a colourful beach on a fine day

“Listening to a poem is not like reading a poem; there’s a sense of enlivening as a poem is launched into the air” (Alastair Cook)

The poem La Plage was written by Scottish poet Jane McKie and is steeped in bright sunshine and knee-deep in children. Jane McKie has nine poetry publications, both pamphlets and book-length, some as collaborations with artists and is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh.

La Plage is read by Alastair Cook and premiered at the McEwan Hall, Edinburgh, as part of This Collection.
