This half-day introduction to typography takes participants from the basics of page layout right through to producing a print-ready poem. It is suitable for anyone would like to submit or publish poetry to a high typographical standard, as well as those starting to explore using concrete or visual techniques in their work.
In addition to an overview of the concepts needed to communicate with designers and understand publishing software, the course will explore the conventions and practical restrictions which underpin poetry typography in print and the ways these can be manipulated for maximum effectiveness.
No previous experience is required. All you need is an interest in poetry typography and a desire to learn!
