Join Stewart Conn as he launches his new collection Aspects of Edinburgh.
The flavour of the New and Old Towns, with their contrasted history and character, are evoked by the companion strands of this invitingly produced book. Stewart Conn’s poems cast a meditative eye not least on the changing seasons of an Edinburgh which he sees very much as a city in a landscape; while the atmospheric quality of John Knight’s drawings, ranging evocatively from pencil, and pen and ink, to watercolour and gouache, is matched by their architectural accuracy. In the main these qualities, as in their range of panoramas, complement rather directly illustrate of one another; but with such fortuitous overlaps as Holyrood Palace, and the pairing of a poem on RLS with an image of 17 Heriot Row. With drawings by John Knight. Free but ticketed.
