Burns Week

28 January 2021

Blog

Earlier this week, we shared via social media three videos featuring readings of Robert Burns’ poetry. The videos are:

  • an abridged version of Robert Burns’ ‘Tam o’ Shanter’ read by pupils of Dundee’s Morgan Academy published by the Scottish Poetry Library to mark Burns Night in 2021.

  • writer and presenter Alistair Heather reads ‘Tae a Haggis by Robert Burns.
    • Lennie Pennie aka Miss PunnyPennie reads ‘Rantin’ Rovin’ Robin’ by Robert Burns for Burns Night 2021. Rantin’ Rovin’ Robin (also known as There Was A Lad) is a Scottish song written by Robert Burns, appearing in his Second Commonplace Book (his writer’s journal) in 1787 when he was 28.
