Summary

Maurice Lindsay was the foremost champion of Scottish culture in the second half of the twentieth century. A poet, writer and broadcaster, with Modern Scottish Poetry: an anthology of the Scottish Renaissance 1920-1945, he single-handedly brought the work of many Scottish poets to a national and international audience. A prolific poet in his own right, his work was collected by Aberdeen University Press in 1990, though he went on to produce several more books before he died in 2009.
