Matthew Fitt is a poet and educator, working in the field of Scots language education.
Full Biography
Matthew Fitt was born in Dundee in 1968. He was the second holder of the Brownsbank Fellowship; it was from Brownsbank he published his popular poem 'Kate o Shanter's Tale'. Also a novelist, his Scots science fiction novel But n Ben A-Go-Go was published in 2000, followed by his poetry collection, Kate o Shanter's Tale and other poems in 2003.
He was co-founder of the successful Scots language imprint, Itchy Coo, and National Scots Language Development Officer from 2002 to 2011.
