Biography
Summary
Sculptor as well as poet, Macgillivray became a member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1901, and was appointed King’s Sculptor in Ordinary in 1921. With his lively poetry in the Scots of his native North-East, he was an early proponent of the Scottish Renaissance.
