Frank Kuppner was born in Glasgow in 1951 and has lived there ever since. His first collection of poetry was A Bad Day for the Sung Dynasty (1984), and a selection from his first five collections was published as What? Again? Selected Poems (Carcanet, 2000). He has subsequently published A God's Breakfast (2004), and Arioflotga (2008), which was shortlisted for the Scottish Book of the Year award. A novelist as well as a poet, he won the McVitie's Writer of the Year Award in 1995 with Something Very Like Murder.
