Biography
Summary
Flora Garry came from the farming lands of Buchan; trained as a teacher, she wrote stories and drama for radio from the 1920s, and poetry from the 1940s, though her work was not collected in book form until 1974, when Bennygoak and other poems was published by Akros. Her poems in rich Buchan dialect depict the landscape of that area and the working lives of its people, with the experience of women in particular a central interest.
