Christian McEwen was born in London and grew up in the Borders of Scotland. She has a particular interest in nature writing and the family memoir. Her latest book is The Alphabet of Trees: A Guide to Nature Writing, which she co-edited with Mark Statman, (Teachers and Writers Collaborative, September 2000).
