Chris Powici's poetry focuses on human and natural environments. 'My poetry,' he writes, 'engages with the experience of environment and place with a special emphasis on wildlife. Put simply, I like to write about, among other things, woods, herons, deer, rivers, fields, hares and hills. I am also keen to register how the "natural" and "human" worlds overlap one another.' Powici is the editor of literary magazine Northwords Now. Chris's latest collection Somehow This Earth was published by Diehard Books in 2009. He lives in Dunblane, and teaches English and Creative Writing for The Open University, the University of Stirling, and in the local community.
