For librarians

August 2014

Get a head start on National Poetry Day preparations and explore all the free resources we've got up; or browse the extraordinarily healthy range of new titles for August; and librarians, make a note of how to win a free place to the CILIPS Autumn Gathering by tweeting your National Poetry Day activities on 2 October...

What should I buy?

What happened to the traditional publishing quiet of August? The lists are busting with new titles this month, from baby steps in Scots and Chinese to more grownup reading matter involving chocolate anthologies and Philip Larkin (not together).

Poetry for you to print

Here are all 8 pdf poster versions of this year's National Poetry Day postcards, plus 1 general poster for displays.

Happy downloading!

National Poetry Day

The theme for this year's National Poetry Day, on Thursday 2 October, is REMEMBER. Memory, memorising, remembrance... an obvious WWI-friendly theme if you need it, but it'll work in other topics from reminiscence groups to revision techniques. We've just put up the pdf posters of each of the postcard poems, so you can read the poems, see the card designs and download the posters from our National Poetry Day resources page.
