Easy Morning Poems: Caroline Bird

Caroline Bird is one of the UK's most interesting young poets. First published at the age of 15, her precocious talent has grown and deepened, and now, with her latest collection, In These Days of Prohibition (Carcanet), blossomed into one of the best titles published recently. Her humour and insight are unmistakeable, and this reading group is a great chance to acquaint yourself with her work before her appearance at the SPL on 7 June.

Easy Morning Poems reading group sessions take one poet and a clutch of his or her poems. It's suitable for people who both know the poet under discussion well or known nothing about them. The sessions are relaxed, comfortable and an excellent way to start the weekend.

Please note: the poet will not be present in person, only through their words.

The SPL is fully accessible, with a ground-floor entrance and a lift that accesses all three floors. There is one adapted toilet on the basement floor. Guide and hearing dogs are welcome. A portable audio loop is available for single user; if you need a multi-user loops system, please let us know as far as possible in advance.
