The Parlour Guide to Exo-Politics

at Old Leith Theatre

Poet Rachel Plummer is joining forces with the acclaimed Scottish Clarinet Quartet to deliver a vintage sci-fi themed, multi-media performance on the subject of contact with alien life. Featuring experimental film by award winning film maker Matt Hulse and original music by internationally recognised composer Matt Rogers, woven in between spoken word narrative, The Parlour Guide to Exo-Politics explores themes of migration, belonging and otherness through mediums of language, sound and light. It will challenge your view of the universe and your own place in it.

Fountain in a Wood: From Walden to Loch Lomond

at St. Giles' Cathedral, High St., Edinburgh

The Concord Women's Chorus, a 30-voice ensemble from Concord, Massachusetts, USA, will perform a new work by American composer Beth Denisch based on three poems from Kathleen Jamie's "The Tree House." Kathleen Jamie will read these poems as part of the concert.
